workshops.
Workshops are a fun, immersive way to dip your toes into learning more about the risograph printer, its ins and outs and what-have-you’s, and best of all– walk away from class with prints of your own that you made yourself on the risograph!
sign up for a class using our class scheduling tool, or read more about each class below!
beginner workshop - photo & illustration reproductions
*no laptop or design software required
in this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the risograph machine, its history and how it works, and how to set up digital files to reproduce existing photographic or illustrated images using a risograph printer simulating a CMYK print process.
each participant will leave class with 50 copies of their design on 8.5x11” paper using our riso machine.
beginner workshop - 2-color collage prints
no computers required!
in this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the risograph machine and its unique printing method in a more DIY, old-school method by collaging shapes, making marks with pen and pencils into two to three designs that we will overlay and print using Riso inks! this highly experimental process is more likely to yield unexpected (but very cool!) results.
each participant will leave class with 50 copies of their design on 8.5x11” card stock using our riso machine.
intermediate workshop - graphic layered prints
*laptop or tablet and adobe indesign, illustrator, or procreate software required
in this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the risograph machine and how it can be used to layer, color block, and overlay areas of images and/or text with different opacities by referencing a Riso ink color chart!
each participant will leave class with 50 copies of their design on 8.5x11” paper using our riso machine.
*this is an intermediate class and we recommend have prior experience in risograph, screen printing, or have taken our beginner photo reproductions class before registering for this course!
